State Police Investigating Murder-Suicide In Coventry
COVENTRY – A woman and a man are dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a home on Stage Road Friday night.
Police found the bodies inside of a house at 6 Stage Road at about 1 a.m. Saturday, said state police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance.
State police said the two individuals in the house were Gregory Pawloski, 45, and Janice Lesko, 47. They both lived in the residence, according to Vance.
A woman who answered the phone at a relative’s home late Saturday described Lesko as “a wonderful daughter and mother.”
Coventry police were called to 6 Stage Road, at the corner of Grant Hill Road, just after 10 p.m. Friday for a report of a disturbance involving a firearm, Vance said. Officers established a perimeter around the home and tried to contact the occupants but were not successful.
Neighbors said they were awakened late Friday to the sound of a police officer using a megaphone to ask the occupants inside 6 Stage Road to call emergency-911. A regional tactical team was then called to the scene. Officers entered the home at around 1 a.m. and found two people dead.
Preliminary investigation by the state police Eastern District Major Crime Scene Squad has determined the deaths to be the result of a murder-suicide involving a firearm, Vance said.
Autopsies will be performed to determine the manner and cause of the deaths, Vance said.
Police remained at the house Saturday, more than 12 hours after the initial 911 call, gathering evidence. A large crime scene was established, blocking off portions of Stage and Grant Hill roads, as well as part of a Walgreens parking lot across from the house.
