Gas Line Break Causes Evacuations In Hartford

HARTFORD — Firefighters are evacuating several buildings near Park Street and Sisson Avenue after a construction crew ruptured a high pressure gas line Monday morning.

Firefighters have been checking area buildings and have so far not found any high concentrations of natural gas.

A Connecticut Natural Gas crew arrived on the scene about 9:25 a.m.

Police are asking commuters to avoid the area.
