Thursday Night Weather: Few Clouds, Frigid Tonight
Okay, it’s cold. That hasn’t changed in a while, nor will it for Friday. Highs in the low to mid 30s are still a few degrees below norms.
Everyone wants to know about the weekend , and this potentially big snow storm. At this point, it doesn’t look like it’s going to miss. So what can you expect? Snow starts around midday Saturday, with a few showers/squalls that will coat the ground. Later in the afternoon, closer to dinnertime, the snow will ramp up, and continue through the night.
While I’m glad that this doesn’t affect kids for a snow day – and the timing is good for sledding and skiing on Sunday, I’m concerned that with holiday party season in full swing, and with the stores counting on revenue this weekend, people will still want to travel and get out and about – and in the evening, that may not be a good idea.
Storm totals are still in flux, but we’re looking at the potential for 4-8” across most of the state – with a little less at the shoreline. We’ll fine tune those numbers Friday.
Joe Furey has the latest at 4am, and I take over at 4pm. And of course, count on FOX CT to keep you safe during the storm all weekend long.
