Amtrak Train Strikes Car In New Britain

NEW BRITAIN — An Amtrak train struck a car on a section of track near the Berlin line Sunday night.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. between Fulton Street and Christian Lane on a northbound train with a final destination of Springfield, Mass. No injuries were reported.

Police said the car had been stolen from a nearby salvage lot and driven through a fence when it became stuck on the tracks and was abandoned. A second car stolen from the lot was left nearby.

A second train came to pick passengers up and bring them to their final destination. A FOX CT employee aboard the train said passengers were delayed for several hours.

I wouldn't express your opinion to much , the bristol press for instance bans people from posting comments that don't serve their agenda .

My caregiver's girlfriend Michelle was stuck on that train, it took until almost 2am for a train to come get them, then he had to go pick her up at the Springfield Amtrak at 3am, made for a long night for him. Too bad Springfield Mass no longer gets Fox 61 on cable.
