St. Patrick’s Day by the numbers

HARTFORD – From the beer to the green chachkies, people across the country and whipping out their wallets to pay up for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

So where does all the money go? If you guessed beer, you’re right. 13 million pints of Guinness will be consumed worldwide on St. Patrick’s Day. March 17th ranks 4th among the calender’s most popular drinking days, behind New Year’s Eve, Christmas, and the Fourth of July.
