Mike Magnoli

Mike Magnoli is a Morning Live Reporter for FOX CT.  He’s up early so viewers can start their day knowing what’s happening in their hometowns and elsewhere in the world of news.

Mike started in TV behind the scenes.  At FOX NEWS CHANNEL, 20/20 and WABC he answered to “Intern Mike.”  Then he went on to become a writer/producer. His first on air job was at KALB in Alexandria, Louisiana. From there he moved to the land of “Swamp People” and “Duck Dynasty” where he did a stint at KATC in Lafayette. Assignments in the Bayou State included hurricanes, covering the Army at Fort Polk, the rise of Gov. Bobby Jindal in the Republican Party, the Jena 6 and the BP Oil Spill.  Mike won several AP awards for his field work.

More recently, back in his home state of Connecticut, Mike was the first reporter on the scene of the Stamford Christmas fire which went on to become a national story, he covered Super Storm Sandy, the Sandy Hook School shooting, the Rampage of the Boston Bombing Suspects, the Bridgeport train derailment, and the Aaron Hernandez Case.  On the lighter side: He’s gone live from Connecticon (New England’s answer to Comic-Con) and tested roller coasters.

Originally from Southington, Mike and his wife (who is a news producer) currently reside in West Hartford with a dog named Sandie and an all black cat (“the cat formerly known as Prince”).

Mike studied communications and graduated cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.

Mike likes the variety you get on the morning shows, from breaking news to politics to trial coverage and features, he believes people are what make stories good.
